COBOL isn't 'grownup'. That's what I'm still using now.
Grownup is remembering collators that were programmed by actually doing
the wiring.
Grownup is remembering sorters that required two runs to sort one alpha
character: one for each punch hole.
Grown up is having been there when Morgan Grenfell got their first
computer and running the entire bank on 32K of memory.
I've only been to London once since then but I'm coming with a group of
friends in October. My sister and her roommate have never been and I'm
looking forward to showing them 'my' city.
Neil, do you think Platform 9 3/4 will still be up then? Our time is
short (we only have 3 days in London) but it would be fun to see. Out
of the 5 people, 4 are HP fans.
Margaret
