Not certain if they have the same tendencies, but I was told by a teacher
here at SSC (Ohio), no. Cobol is one language and C another. I am going
to assume, as the teacher was of an age to retire this year, that he
knew what he was talking of.

It's an interesting language, though, cobol. I thoroughly enjoyed
learning it (despite all the headaches) for my teacher was a hands on
guy. If you had a problem, he said "It's in the book" and waved a hand
to make you go back to your seat.

In some ways, he reminds me of a wizened one!! Perhaps, now that he's
retired, he'd be perfect for a HP teacher role?
