Yes I did read the website, as I have done a few times before, when
similar comments have been made to me.
If I were to follow on your logic then I should also stop using Microsoft
products as they to are in some ways reducing computer development. But,
where after saying that I should not use anything associated with these
two companies, do I stop? I could find quite legitimate reasons for not
using any of the online retailers or computer software companies.
Should I stop using a computer all together? But then I go out and find
similar problems the whole way down the high street. What should I do
then? Become a hermit?
Of course there is the even bigger problem, that
is about to surface, over the patent of the hyperlink
http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sci/tech/newsid_798000/798475.stm for
more info). Does this mean that I should stop using BT as they also,
through this patent, are going to hold computer technology back.
Amazon are trying to do some postive things. They are after a change
in patent law, for anything relating to computers. They admit there is
a problem and are looking at coming to a sensible conclusion. In each
case there are two sides and by no means does noamazon.com have it
completely right.
