Ah, "The Foundling" is a great set of short stories for those who have
read the other books and are familiar with the characters. I take it
you have gone back and read "The Book of Three"?

I'd have to say, definately try out the "A Song of Fire and Ice" series
by George R.R. Martin. Given your tastes in reading, I could see you
liking it, although there are a few bits with a little bit more sex
and/or violence than you may want for your son to hear, but for a series
for mom to read, I highly recommend it. "A Game of Thrones" is the first
book if you want to try those out.

My heart leapt at finding that Black should be Harry's legal guardian,
and was quite disappointed that he had to go back to the Dursley's. I
do see the comedy in the situations of having him at the Dursley's as
it allows some fun at the uberMuggles' expense, but I might not mind
seeing Black get cleared and have a change of pace with Harry living
someplace healthy, and having a good summer for a change of pace. At
least for the last book or two. Just my thoughts on the matter.
