This has nothing to do with Harry's "real" name as it will be revealed
or anything - just the name Harry (and Harold) in general.
I always thought that Harry was a diminuative (sp?) of Henry or (less
common) Harrison. I knew a guy in junior high/high school named Harold,
and his nickname was Hal. In fact, the only Harolds I've ever heard of
were always called Hal. Of course, that doesn't mean much, since Henry
V was called Hal (right? I'm taking this from Shakespeare, and I can't
remember which play has the young Hal causing trouble. Wasn't that Henry
IV?). Anyway, if Harry's real name were to be Harold, it seems to me
that he would more likely have the nickname Hal. Just a personal opinion.

Ps. The guy in high school named Hal? He changed his name in our senior
year to "Christopher". Of course, he gets really ticked off when his
classmates call him Hal anyway. ;)
me again.
Ps. I really don't like Hal - he once told his whole gym class that
he had a "sexy dream" about my little sister. Of course, he also told
our entire class that he was going to be a gynecologist when he "grew
up". Question: why on EARTH would you tell your classmates this? Did he
think the girls would go out with him if he were going to be one? ;)
Jen (again, and I'm sorry for going so off-topic here)
