I'm sorry this took a few days, Norevoli. I have read several posts from
my computer at work, and even written a couple. But I'm interrupted so
often there, my participation is rather choppy, and can even result in
an incomplete post (case in point, 568). But on this one, I wanted to
wait for a time when I could give it my full attention. Don't worry,
I don't mind backing up my thoughts with harder evidence (or admitting
it when I can't).

I didn't mean to write off Cho, at least not because of anything against
her personally. It was more because of a rumor I heard about book 4. I
heard that everyone was going to fall for the "wrong" people at that time
(though I don't know whether it's magic induced). Since Harry is starting
to have feelings (or at least an attraction) for Cho toward the end of
book 3, it got me to thinking she may be Harry's "Ms Wrong" of book 4.

I'll also have to admit that part of it was because I've been rooting for
Ginny ever since the beginning of book 2. When Harry first noticed Cho,
I felt a surge of protectiveness toward Ginny, almost as though Harry
were cheating on her! Irrational, I know, since nothing has actually
happened with either girl.

It's more hunch than anything else, but I think since Ginny's crush has
lasted so long, it will eventually be satisfied (probably in book 6 or 7).

As for Ron and Hermione, I think their bickering covers something they're
not ready to admit yet (but hopefully will, again, in book 6 or 7). But I
noticed Ron, not Harry, always seems to be the first to leap to Hermione's
defense. It was he who ended up coughing up slugs, when trying to defend
her against Malfoy's insults. He was also the one who showed the most
reaction (disguised as Crabbe) when Malfoy, again, badmouthed Hermione.

Well, I think I've rambled enough, thanks for bearing with me this long.

Melanie.

PS: If the mismatches in Book 4 do come from a spell, how about Malfoy and
Hermione <g>? Then we'll *know* it's an evil (or at least misfired) spell.
