Does anyone have any thoughts as to how the House Quidditch teams are
chosen exactly? Is it solely up to the professor in charge of that house
to create the teams or do we suppose there *are* tryouts each year. I know
Harry was worried in Book 2 or 3 that he might lose his place because
he hadn't practiced in 2 months. Does that imply that they do "try out"
for the team each year? Or, does it just mean that McGonagall might
have chosen another Seeker if Harry turned up and performed terribly
at the first few practices, I wonder? I ask only in that I wonder (a)
whether Ron, who is passionate about the sport, will ever get a chance
to play, and (b) whether those "flying lessons" are still going on. We
never hear if Hermione & Neville have learned to fly all that well. Now
that I think of it, she must know how as they had to chase those flying
keys at the end of Sorcerer's Stone. Okay, random thoughts for tonight.
