<At first I thought it would be great if he could go and live with Lupin,
or the Weasleys, but now I've changed my mind. Besides the fact that the
Dursleys are almost like a test to Harry's tolerance, I think if he
lived somewhere else it would be too neat and tidy.>
Well, I definitely think Dumbledore made the right decision to let
Harry grow up at the Dursleys, away from his fame and knowledge of the
wizarding world (despite the fact that I can't imagine *how* Harry turned
out to be such a good person living under those circumstances). But,
once extrictated from that place, I think it's terrible for him to have
to go back. Mind you, I do think the Dursleys add to the plot, and I
think there is some other grand purpose to it all that will be revealed
at some point. But, I still feel sorry for Harry returning there at the
end of each school year (especially POA when he had thought for a short
while that he would be living with Sirius).
Does anyone else assume that by age 16 or 17 Harry could make his own
decision about where to spend school holidays? What is the age of minority
in the UK I wonder?
