LOL

Does anyone here have a theory about the exchange rate for
dollars/galleons?

I was trying to calculate this by looking carefully at what people
purchase and how much they pay for their purchases, and then attempting
to make comparisons. Problem is, we do not have much to compare to the
prices for brooms or magic wands. Wizard owls are obviously not priced
in proportion to what an actual raptor would cost to a muggle. The most
ordinary things I could find were the candies Harry bought on the train
for eleven sickles.

Hmmmm....

Well I losted each item and then priced out similar muggle items (ie:
perhaps bertie bott's every flavor beans would be comparable to 1/4 pound
of jelly bellies, etc.). I then divided this by the number of sickles
Harry paid, then multiplied the value of a sickle by 17 to come up with
the value of a galleon.

$6.43= 1 Galleon.

I guess I had some time on my hands this morning.....
