Like Penny and Nick, I love checking on details of the books, even finding
the nits. I assure you all, I mean absolutely no disrespect for Rowling
or her work when I do this. In fact, I think noticing these things is a
compliment; it means we love the books enough to read them over and over,
giving them thorough attention.

For those of you who enjoy that sort of thing, and are into certain Sci-Fi
TV, may I recommend "The Nitpicker's Guide" books by Phil Farrand? He
has at least one inch-thick paperback book of gaffes on each of the "Star
Trek" series (except possibly "Voyager"), and one on the "X-Files." I'd
love to see what he'd do with the Harry Potter series!

Also, check out www.harrypotterfans.net. It has a whole section on
possible mistakes, as well as potential explanations for some of them.
