Yes, I s'pose you are right...which means that there is a rotting
basilisk carcass in the Chamber of Secrets to this very day...btw, do
you think that basilisk was a forerunner to nagini? or just a snake
that grew real big inside the Chamber?

Yes, that would be appropriate since he was the first snake we met,
and every one since has been EVIL! Or, perhaps THAT snake WAS
Nagini,
and he went off to rendezvous with V, perhaps alert him that Harry
Potter was a parseltongue. If that's the case, then Nagini, as well
as Pettigrew, owes Harry for saving his life - or at least giving him
his freedom...
