Whenever I read that scene, I wonder whether he meant that he used an
invisibility spell, or whether he meant that he simply used the technique of
being very still and quiet so as not to be noticed<<<<<<
Interesting - I remember reading, a long time ago, some Carlos Castaneda
book where he talked about the way his old teacher Don Juan could become
invisible in public. And oddly enough, I was just reading last week, a book
by Stuart Wilde (love him!) called "The Quickening" where he discusses
exercises you can do to make yourself "invisible" -- not technically
invisible, of course, but you would be able to walk unnoticed in public.
Intriguing stuff, and psychologically valid.
