Hadn't thought about it.  I was struck by the parallel between Dumbledore
and Gandalf; specifically the scene between Gandalf and Frodo in which
Gandalf says that the pity of Bilbo (in sparing Gollum) may rule the fate of
many--it reminds me of Dumbledore telling Harry in PoA that he should be
glad that he spared Wormtail--now Voldemort has his servant back, but
Wormtail is under lifedebt obligation to Harry.  Makes me think that
Wormtail is going to have some sort of Gollum-type role at the series
climax.
