Another egroups techie question

Is it worth us having our own server?

Most of what Egroups and Yahoo does, we can implement on our own 
virtual server... quite a few of us here know a bit about HTML, PHP, 
PERL etc, so it is possible if we put our creative minds to it.

I wonder what domain names are available!

Anyone fancy the idea of having our own system to play with?  One 
down side I can see is that you could not send mail in - like you can 
with eGroups, but you could use Web Mail.   Unless of course we 
invested in a ListServe.

Hmm... maybe going a bit far... better to wait to see how eGroups 
holds out - you never know, Yahoo and Egroups may improve a lot after 
the merger.
