Richard Harris/Dumbledore

People have suggested that Richard Harris isn't a good enough actor 
to play Dumbledore, but no one has suggested another problem I see.

He's just too old to take on the role.  It would be easier to choose 
a slighter younger man and make him up to look older.  After all, 
he'll have to have long white hair and beard anyway.

I don't know how old he is, but in real life Mr. Harris looks _very_ 
old.  I don't think he will survive to make all the movies.  He 
already looks as if he's got a foot in the grave.  So, IMO, they 
should have started with a younger actor, or at least one who looks 
healthier, like Patrick Stewart.  However, Patrick Stewart doesn't, 
to my knowledge ever wear a wig for a role, so maybe he didn't want 
to start now even for the role of Dumbledore.
