Yes, in the context you used it, 'naff' seemed to convey the opposite
meaning to the one you intended. Although it is slang, 'cool' is used in the
UK and, from your description of it, I'd say that room was "the really cool
bedroom" (I want one like it!). Somehow, "the really nice bedroom" doesn't
sound quite so ... cool.
