Makes me also wonder why Neville, who goes to pieces in Snape's 
presence, could have been chosen for Gryffindor which selects 
the "bravest".

Also, Hermione seems to me more appropriate for the house of 
Ravenclaw which prizes intelligence.

Crabbe and Goyle's propensity for meaness must have made them 
suitable candidates for Slytherin. Or could it be something to do 
with their fathers being Death Eaters ?
