Hi all, haven't posted sinced we moved have been trying to wade
through all the messages. With school starting and trying to get
three kids ready to go back there hasn't been a whole lot of time.
On to my story:
My birthday was in the middle of August. Now ever year my husband
tries to suprise me but somehow I usually figure out what he gets
me. We're on the same wavelength, I think. Anyway about a week
before my b-day we were out shopping. There is a little shopping
area here in town that has a WB store and a Disney store in it. I
wanted to go to the WB store and see if they had gotten anything new
in, cause I had bought a snitch there when they first came out. Well
I found the most adorable set of bookend. They are of Harry going
through the wall at platform 9and 3/4 on his way back to school. One
end has one end of him and the other has the front end. Hedwig is
part of them and all his trucks and papers and all that stuff.
Anyway I thought they were adorablee and told the hubby. I had
foundd what I really wanted for my birthday. Well after not getting
anything we went down to the Disney store. Now they have a
collection of Pooh Bear figurines that I really like and knowing my
husband like I do I figured he would be getting me one for me as my
present. (You know me as pooh-65 at Yahoo- I''ve always loved Pooh)
Anyway he told me to go out with the kids and he would be right out.
Now he didn't have much to buy but when he came out he had this huge
bag and a big box in it. So I "knew" what I was getting. He then
said he needed to stop at the WB store one more time on our way out.
After doing this, and he didn't get anything we went home and enjoyed
our evening. Now on my birthday I am thinking I am so smart that I
know what I have. As I am opening my gifts he is holding two back
for last. I open the Disney box and there is not the figurine I
expected but something else. So I am wondering what could possibly be
in the last box. Well lo and behold they were my bookends. Now I
knew he hadn't been back to the store so I wanted to know how he had
done it. He tells me. At the Disney store he tells the clerk that
he needs the biggest gift box they have. Of course she is puzzled
because he doesn't have anything but a small keychain. He tells her
that my birthday is coming up and that I want something from the WB
store. But he has to hide it and make it appear my gift came from
the D store. He had brass I will say that. But she thought it was
cool so she gave him the box. In the WB store as he is paying for
the bookends he goes to put them in the Disney box. The clerk there
is having a fit. He tells the guy the whole story and since the WB
store got his money it should be no big deal. Well in the end they
thought it was a cool idea too. So now I have all four of my books
on a shelf with my bookends, where the other three will go eventually.
Sorry to ramble but I just had to let you guys know. Hubbys can be
really sweet sometimes. BTW I finally got him into the books. Can't
wait till he is done. There is just so much to discuss. It is so
hard keeping my mouth shut. Well till later Shelly
