Rita -- I'm intrigued by your theories -- it would make a great fanfic!
You should pursue it.  I do think your analysis of Gryffindor & his
ethnicity is plausible.  Helga Hufflepuff as a Dane makes sense too.
Anyway ... I hope you'll pursue this!
