Actually I didn't think about *why* they were domesticated at all. But
you're right. It's just that nowadays when the supermarket is just around
the corner one doesn't really like to think about eating guinea pigs. I
don't want to hear what my parents would say about guinea pigs as Christmas
Dinner <g>.
