Ref: COS Chap.17
"He pulled Harry's wand from his pocket and began to trace it through the
air, writing three shimmering words:
TOM MORVOLO RIDDLE
Then he waved the wand once, and the letters of his name rearranged
themselves:
I AM LORD VOLDEMORT"
It should be Marvolo, but that does not alter the fact that Tom Riddle (Lord
Voldemort) was named after his father - oddly enough also called Tom Riddle.
GoF Ch 35:
'The Dark Lord and I,' said Moody, <snip> 'have much in common. Both of us,
for instance, had very disappointing fathers ... very disappointing indeed.
Both of us suffered the indignity, Harry, of being named after those
fathers. And both of us had the pleasure ... the very great pleasure ... of
killing our fathers, to ensure the continued rise of the Dark Order!'
Barty Crouch Jr - who at the time is still disguised as Mad-Eye Moody, said
the above. It clearly points to Tom Riddle sharing his name with his father,
except that he had the addition of the middle name Marvolo.
