Another Jim around here (Jim Ferer AKA Dadgrid) wrote a fic 
entitled "The Granger Interview" that sort of has this take on 
things.  I think it's in the files section... in case it's not,

Without this fic, there's no way I could have outlined the one I'm 
writing.  The interview's been marinating in my subconscious for 
months along with a lot of other ideas.  Thanks for reminding me of 
it--I've just added it to my favorites page.
