The thing he'd miss most

Well, I've gotten started, and I can't stop.  Two posts from me not 
only in one day, but within moments!  But I'm catching up with these 
posts finally!

I just wanted to toss out here that perhaps Ron was Harry's 'thing 
he'd miss most' specifically because of what had happened that term.  
Their whole fight may well have made him realize how important his 
best friend was to him.  Many of us can't actually remember the first 
friend we ever had, as we were not deprived of the privilege of having 
friends for 11 years.  As the first friend Harry ever had, Ron would 
be a terrible, horrible thing to loose, but I don't think that makes 
him a love interest.  At least not for Harry. 

Sorry, I'll try to keep my trap shut for a little while now.
