Cool thread, Sarah! I'm a quote fanatic myself... here's some more
I'd have in my sig here if I didn't read this list solely on the
web. The first few are quotes, but the bottom two are "Three
Musketeers" type passages about the Trio in action... as much as I
talk ship, their friendship is what made me like the series in the
first place:

**************
"No good sittin' worryin' about it," Hagrid said. "What's comin'
will come, and we'll meet it when it does."

--p. 719, GoF, 1st Amer. ed

"It does not do to dwell in dreams and forget to live, remember that."
(Dumbledore)

"THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!" roared (Sirius) Black. "DIED RATHER
THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!"

--p. 375, PoA, 23rd Amer. ed.

"We start by recruiting members," said Hermione happily. "I thought
two Sickles to join--that buys a badge--and the proceeds can fund our
leaflet campaign. You're treasurer, Ron--I've got you a collecting
tin upstairs--and Harry, you're secretary, so you might want to write
down everything I'm saying now, as a record of our first meeting."

There was a pause in which Hermione beamed at the pair of them, and
Harry sat, torn between exasperation at Hermione and amusement at the
look on Ron's face.

(This one's too long for a sig... but if they cut it from the movie
or fumble it up, I'll scream! It's the epitome of Harry, Ron, and
Hermione's personalities and interaction... I think it's one of my
favorites in all of the books. I fell out of my chair howling when I
first read it... a snippet of this is over at Yahoo on my member
page.)

"Stop moving!" Hermione ordered them. "I know what this is--it's
Devil's Snare!"

"Oh, I'm so glad we know what it's called, that's a great help,"
snarled Ron, leaning back, trying to stop the plant from curling
around his neck.

"Shut up, I'm trying to remember how to kill it!" said Hermione.

"Well, hurry up, I can't breathe!" Harry gasped, wrestling with it
as it curled around his chest.

"Devil's Snare, Devil's Snare... what did Professor Sprout say?--it
likes the dark and the damp..."

"So light a fire!" Harry choked.

"Yes--of course--but there's no wood!" Hermione cried.

"HAVE YOU GONE MAD?" Ron bellowed. "ARE YOU A WITCH OR NOT?"

"Oh, right!" said Hermione, and she whipped out her wand and waved
it...

I've got loads more, but I'll shut up before I'm kicked off
list. :) Are there any more that are favorites?
