Subject: [HPforGrownups] Dumbledore & socks
I thought that the meaning of the socks that Dumbledore saw in the
Mirror of Erised was fairly clear -- he yearns for family and for
someone to take care of *him* (symbolized by knitting him socks).
Being the point man in the struggle against Voldemort must be a
lonely life.
