I've just been reading Ray Kurzweil's book _The Age of Spitiual Machines_
by Ray Kurzweil.  Among other things, he predicits that computer technology
will allow us to drink the Elixer of Life and become immortal by 2050.  I find
this evocative, but at the same time I can't help thinking of this prospect in
the context of what Dumbledore tells Harry... Is Kurzweil and other 
cyber-Flamels
longing for "precisely what is worst for them" and seeking to use computers to
evade "the next great adventure"?
