I can summarize.  Someone conjectured that while the death of Lupin
might be hardest on JKR (who has said that Lupin is one of her
favorites) and on some of the fans, the death that would obviously hit
*Harry* the hardest would be for Sirius to die.  This is all in response
to JKR saying that one of the upcoming deaths (presumably Book 5) was
going to "half-crucify" her to write.  Whoever posited the Sirius theory
originally argued rather persuasively that it might "half-crucify" her
to write about Sirius' death if for no other reason than the effect of
that death on Harry.

I'm still hoping that it won't be Sirius but .... the above argument is
a good one.
