See Chap. 33 (p. 652-53 of the American edition), where Voldemort is
reminiscing over his murder of James and Lily - Voldy tried to kill Harry,
presumably with a Kedrava curse.  But Lily provided Harry with an as-yet
undescribed protection ("old magic" Voldy describes - presumably not "that
old black magic" of the popular song) which deflected the curse back on him.
The only effect Harry suffered was the scar on his forehead.
