We have had a couple of discussions about those wacky Italian
covers. The most logical answer that anyone has come up with is that
they simply forgot to actually read the books before they drew the
pictures. Either that or they are hitting the old vino pretty hard
and seeing giant rats and enormous flying books and gigantic flying
birds (although I guess that could be the front half of Buckbeak).
There really is just no explaining the Italians, I suppose.
