Brooks, is this a reference to Cheech and Chong?  (Chuckles).

If so, Cheech Martin is an actor who I believe hails from the Latino quarter of LA.  He's been in several movies, as well as been the voice behind some rather interesting Disney characters--such as one of the hyenas (opposite Whoopie) in the Lion King.  I think he played the Chihuahua (spelled wrong) in the movie Oliver and Company, as well.  An interesting man!
