	May I recommend the following. They are fantasy, but definitely 
not LOTR clones.
	 The Many-Colored Land and its sequels, by Julian May
 anything by R.A. MacAvoy, especially The Book of Kells and the Damiano 
series. 
	Also, The Satanic Mill, by Ottfried Preussler
