But would it have been possible for Wormtail to have been branded by Voldemot in
his semi-bodied state during GoF (or the summer before) and not before the
potters were killed?

I guess we don't know if Voldemort had the power to do that, but it is entirely
possible that Wormtail was not branded before Voldemort fell.
