IMO it really depends on how the work is dramatized. For example the
BBC's version of "Great Expectations" a couple of years ago was truer
to the novel than that movie with Gwynneth Paltrow. I thought the
BBC's version of "David Copperfield" was very good too. I'm dreading
the American version due out later this year.
