Good point! Maybe Dumbledore's Snape comment was edited out of the
official records as being confidential. We are seeing Dumbledore's
memory of the event. Furthermore, let's say that Dumbledore's
comments were not edited from the official records, that would lend
even more credence to the Snape at Hogwarts for protection theory.
Dumbledore might have thought that some loyal Death Eaters might go
after his spy, Snape, so the safest place for Snape would be Hogwarts
under Dumbledore's protection.
