I had a thought on Lupin being a man. Besides Dumbledore, isn't he the first
adult male that Harry begins to trust and love? [Hagrid, yes, but he's not your
standard-issue adult male anything, and I think he's in a separate category.]
And Dumbledore isn't really accessible to Harry or any sort of frequent contact.
So Lupin's character paves the way for Harry to be able to accept and build a
relationship with Sirius.

Any thoughts?
