Apparate with a pal? No way!

I just thought of a perfectly simple example of the rule that you can't take
someone with you when you Apparate (by holding them).  If you could, James
and Lily would have just grabbed Harry and disappeared into thin air when
Voldemort appeared.  I'm shocked that they had no contingency escape plan,
but if they had, then there wouldn't be the Harry Potter stories, would
there?  :D
