I can't say I've been scared by much in these books, but the scenes
that disturbed me the most were (a) the writing on the wall in CoS,
(b) the Death Eaters parading the Muggle family through the Quidditch
camp in GoF.
Monsters, in general, don't scare me because I can convince myself
they are impossible, whereas both the above scenes have parallels
with real life situations.
