I am surprised that no one mentions the sequence of events where Peter
Pettigrew cuts off his own hand with a knife--and then Harry realizes that
Peter's standing right beside him, holding that knife and . . . (shudder)
I hate sharp pointy things wielded with malevolent intent.
Dementors are bad, too.
