My only problem was that Barty Jr. seemed to say in his "confession" that
he'd made it a portkey to begin with. But I like the interpretation that
it was always supposed to zip the winner to the front of the maze; it
explains why they came back outside of it, doesn't it? Of course, that
could have been built in by Barty for the convenience of his beloved
master, so he [V] could hit the ground running with his new reign of
terror. Am I reading too much into what Barty said? Didnt' he say he
turned the cup into a Portkey?
