No, I've wondered about it, too.  I imagine that if you have no head for heights
a ride on a brookstick would be terrifying.  You have to watch out for electric
wires.  And you get bugs in your teeth on fast dives.

The idea of riding on a broom is appealing . . . until you really think about
it.  But, perhaps as suggested, there are charms "built in" to the magic which
makes broom riding possible (seat padding, clothes-taming, bug repellent) that
makes the whole thing pleasant.

Either way, I'd probably be game to at least try playing Quidditch if I was ever
offered the opportunity.  And a magical broomstick to play it with.
