One that comes to mind, Peg, is Quark on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.  He's
a swindler, almost a pimp, a criminal...and yet he's a good guy.  It helps
that he's nowhere NEAR as personally hostile as Snape is.

I can't think of anyone who's as horrible as Snape and yet a good guy.
