sex and the faculty recruitment problem at Hogwarts...

Has anyone else noticed (or am I wrong) that all the Hogwarts 
professors seem to be single (or divorced or widowed?)..none of them
have a visible partner...? and none of them have kids.....!

Is that a requirement for teaching? Is that why Professor Dumbledore 
has such a hard time recruiting faculty......or are the 
partners/lovers stashed away somewhere. 

Re fantasy influence: I just read an article that said that Rowlings 
cited the Chronicles of Narnia as an influence on her work.
