It's not that we are using up the water, it's that the water supply is being contaminated at an alarming rate.

That's the scary part.

This is off the subject, but I had a very frustrating conversation with
someone recently who was very concerned that we were using up all the water
on the planet.  I attempted to explain to him that the amount of water on
this planet essentially does not change, but he wouldn't believe me.

Don't they teach science in high school anymore?
