Watching the television this morning with my son, I enjoyed seeing (a repeat) an episode of Arthur that reminded me of Harry Potter. The children were enthused about reading, something that many of the parents found amazing (again, like HP!). A few parents got together, though, and created an Anti-"Scare Your Pants off book" group called PAWS (Parents against Weird Stories), and had the books banned from the library. The episode went on to explain why the books were a good thing, and the lead parent in the group hadn't even read the series, so the author, who was revealed, read him one of the book. The basic "moral" of the show was don't condemn something you haven't read. I wonder if we could make this show required reading for the HP banners?
Just a thought.
