	The books by PL Travers, (an author Ebony might consider in her 
researches) were written from 1935 on...I can't recall if the setting 
of the books is so definitely Edwardian, my Poppins books having long 
since passed to the next generation.  (I too am old enough to
remember Ilya)...
Mary could have been teaching though, even if we accept the 
Disney chronology. Maybe she's Minerva McGonnagal's mom! (The Mary 
Poppins of the books, for those who haven't read them, is a far less 
sacharine creation than the one Disney made for the screen...I have a 
feeling the hat would want her in Slytherin
