James' father, and one eensy pointless HP factoid.

<Time manipulation need have nothing to do with it. Tom Riddle Jr. (ie.
Voldemort) is perfectly aged to be the father of James, at least. However,
he would have to have been conceived in the late 40's, before Voldy
underwent all his changes. Plus Voldy couldn't have known about James, or
he'd have taunted Harry with it before now.>
I don't believe it ever says *when* Voldie underwent those changes...the
Reign of Terror was from c. 1970 to 1981, as Dumbledore says in chapter one
of PS that the wizard folk have had precious little to celebrate for 11
years. So James could have been conceived as late as 1960 or a bit earlier,
and still be Voldemort's son and Harry's father.
As for the taunting, Voldie could have his reasons for keeping quiet...I
have a little pet theory to explain it all, but I need to go through it to
find any plot holes first (I definitely need too if I want to write a long
and angst-filled fic about it : P).
*My* little HP factoid is that within the past three weeks of school I've
managed to get a hole of GoF for one friend, got another started on PS and
then CoS, brought two friends together so that one could lend the other her
copy of PoA, and chose my seat in English class because it was right next to
the HP decorated part of the classroom. One of my favorite parts of it is
the drawing with the caption 'He Who Must Not Be Named (Voldemort)'. Cheers
me up immensely.
