See if V. was Harry's grandpa, I think he would have rubbed it in 
Harry's face by now...especially in CoS when Harry was having doubts 
of his Gryffindorness. Also, Dumbledore told Harry that V. was the 
last relative of Slytherin. If Harry is V's grandson, that would mean 
either Dumbledore is lying to Harry (which is something that he 
hasn't done yet) or Dumbledore is plain clueless.

Although it would be very reminicent of the Greek Myth, Perseus if V 
was Harry's grandpa. Perseus' grandfather heard a prophecy that his 
grandson would kill him so he tossed his daughter into the sea to 
kill her (I'm really summarizing this). Anyway, daughter survies and 
Persues becomes a hero. One day he is throwing a discus and it hits 
an old man..yep, his grandpa...killing him.
