Not necessarily: see Juliet Mitchell, who surely sees herself as a modern
feminist, champion Freud in Psychoanalysis and Feminism (1974). She draws a
sharp distinction between the crudities of popularized Freudianism and the
complexities of Freud himself.
Given Freud's strong Anglo-phile leanings - he enthusiastically read
everything from Shakespeare to Agatha Christie in the original English -
I've the feeling he would have rather enjoyed JKR.
