Yeah, I noticed it.  Not the first time around, though.  She does 
that quite a bit, doesn't she?  Sneaks something like that in, almost 
as an afterthought, then it becomes important later on, and you're 
reading it going, 'now *why* didn't I pick up on that earlier?'  
She's the kind of writer I want to be when I grow up.
