The second bit takes place as the threesome are hiding in an empty chamber after dinner, waiting for the entrance hall to clear so they can go visit Hagrid:
      "They heard a last pair of people hurrying across the hall and a door slamming."

  Then later, when Harry and Hermione go back in time and find themselves again in the entrance hall:
      "'In here!'  Hermione seized Harry's arm and dragged him across the hall to the door of a broom closet...then slammed the door behind them."

  It seems to me a little more than coincidence.
